Internal Job Title: Assembler B 

Job Location: Williamsport, PA

Under minimal supervision, and in accordance with written and oral instructions, performs operations required to; prepare and chemically clean/plate components, load and operate furnaces in order to perform brazing operations, load and operate exhaust stations to evacuate (vacuum exhaust) tubes. Standard procedures are established and work is semi-routine in nature.

Responsibilities

Vacuum Exhaust

  • Prepare and install tubes for exhaust cycle.
  • Monitor/control temperature and pressure to meet specifications of various tubes.
  • Troubleshoot potential vacuum leaks on tubes and/or exhaust stations.
  • Record / maintain data sheets as required by procedure.

Furnace Brazing

  • Perform brazing operations defined on process tickets & firing specifications.
  • Load and unload furnaces.
  • Check for hydrogen leaks.
  • Perform safety inspections on hoists.
  • Periodically check furnace temperature with pyrometer.

Plating/Finishing

  • Perform routine chemical cleaning of components (Degrease, Line Run, Bright Dip, Acid Etch, etc…)
  • Calculate component plating area using actual part or drawing.
  • Apply / adjust; voltage and/or current, to plate components to specified thickness as specified on router tickets.
  • Inspect plating thickness as specified using XRF (X-Ray Fluorescence).
  • Replenish chemicals in baths in accordance with laboratory analysis to maintain required concentrations.

General

  • Maintain work area in clean / orderly manner.
  • Maintain barcode accuracy at 100%
  • Initiate clear pass down instructions for next shift.
  • Grit / Bead blast exhausted tubes and components as specified.
  • Inspect/PM equipment as specified.

Qualifications

  • Associates in Electronics or equivalent preferred but not required
  • Able to perform mathematical calculations.
  • Good mechanical aptitude and dexterity.
  • Good organizational skills, and able to give and follow oral and written instructions.
  • Trainable on programmable DCP’s.
  • Able to read mechanical drawings / blueprints.
  • Able to lift up to 50 lbs and wear personal protective equipment.
