Overall Job Description:

 

Stellant Systems Inc. (Stellant) is excited to offer an Onsite Project Engineer role supporting Xenon Ion Propulsion (XIPS) Power Controller (XPC) production at our Torrance facility.  Stellant is an industry leader in electric propulsion, delivering XIPS or other thruster systems since 1995. This role will be primarily tasked with supporting production and test, troubleshooting hardware, providing EEE component guidance for the XPC high voltage power supply for the XIPS product. Responsibilities will also include providing guidance on a technical level to a multidisciplinary group of engineers including design, test, component, embedded and project engineers.  This role will also be expected to run technical investigations for production or operation issues and will support customer meetings / new business activities on a regular basis. 

Responsibilities

  • Project engineering
  • High voltage power supply circuit design.
  • Testing and troubleshooting of circuits
  • Supporting customer meetings, milestones (CDR, PDR, MRR …) and guiding the team through those events.
  • Actively seek out innovative technologies and oversee new product development to ensure continued industry leadership.
  • Support new business activity through proposal review and improvements on current designs

Qualifications

  • Engineering Degree in a related field, EE preferred, with post graduate work a plus.
  • Minimum of 4  years experience as a project engineer, design engineer or similar, with work in the space industry a massive plus.
  • Knowledge of circuit design tools a plus
  • Capable of providing technical support and guidance to a team of engineers and operation individuals to meet production needs
  • Hands on engineering experience with high voltage circuits, power supplies and/or space products a plus.
  • Strong problem-solving skills, utilizing industry-standard root cause corrective action (RCCA) methodologies.
  • Must possess exceptional communication skills both written and verbal
  • Proficiency using Microsoft Office applications is necessary
