Overview

Job Title: Assembler 

Job Location: Williamsport, PA 

 

Under general supervision, performs tasks to process a variety of vacuum devices and assemblies in the exhaust areaPerforms tasks on components by following instructions listed on process tickets, tube jackets or other applicable documentation. 

Responsibilities

  • Maintains work area and tools in a clean and orderly manner daily. 
  • Competently and safely uses the hoists within the department. 
  • Aware of department scrap and yield targets and works to meet them consistently. 
  • Understands basic scheduling flow per demands, per supervisor. 
  • Communicate, share and volunteer information with supervisor and teammates within department. 
  • May cross-train and fill in as Process Operator in Furnace Room. 
  • Load and process tubes on exhaust stations by procedure applicable to the station and tube type 
  • Load and process cathodes per procedure on industrial pre-glow station. 
  • Grit/bead blast parts and assemblies as detailed on process ticket or applicable exhaust procedure. 
  • Use and maintain pinch-off tools to ensure quality vacuum seals. 
  • Connect tubes to stations, set voltages for processing per procedure and written instructions. 
  • Perform hydrogen backfill on thyratrons per procedure and written instructions. 
  • Ability to multitask, running a number of exhaust stations at the same time while also running other equipment in the department. 

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent 
  • 2-4 years related experience 
  • Understanding of basic electrical principles preferred 
  • Understanding of vacuum pumps and systems preferred.
