Overview

Job Title: Engineering Intern 

Job Location: Melville, NY 

Salary: $20.00-$22.00/hr 

 

Assists in solving engineering problems in one or more phases of development.  Provides support to engineering projects involving the analysis, research, design, development, fabrication, and testing of devices or systems.  Assignments may be varied and require originality and ingenuity.  

Responsibilities

  • Investigates and conducts studies on specifications and requirements of the project.
  • Analyzes original circuit design.
  • Assists in supplying technical assistance and coordination to designers and staff assigned to the project.
  • May be involved in designing and planning wiring layouts and schematics.
  • Prepares and arranges the test setup.
  • Checks performance of devices during tests and evaluates the results.
  • Provides technical assistance in the preparation of spare parts lists, special tools, test equipment, and other engineering data.
  • Specifies the procurement of specialized components and test equipment.
  • May assist in preparation of bids and proposals.
  • Uses PC-based Computer Aided Engineering (CAE) Programs of moderate complexity.
  • Collate data and generate development reports/presentations for senior engineering review

Qualifications

  • Working towards a Bachelor’s degree Electrical Engineering (BSEE) or equivalent
  • Microsoft Office proficiency
