Machinist A

Job Title: Machinist 

Job Location: Williamsport, PA 

Under supervision, sets up and operates all machine shop related tools and equipment. Works from prints or sketches and performs all of the necessary operations using mathematics, machinery, hand tools and measuring instruments

• Responsible for determining speeds and feeds as well as tooling and cutting characteristics for any and all materials
• Performs less complete machine operations or a limited number of machine tools such as drill presses, lathes power saws, shears, grinders, punch presses, honing machines, etc
• Performs machine operations under supervision, and all work is frequently checked
• Will be required to maintain tolerances by the use of dial indicators, micrometers, pin gauges and other measuring equipment
• Maintains equipment for daily use and keep working area safe, clean and orderly
• Reads, understands, and adheres to Shop Safety Regulations
• Performs other duties as assigned

• Demonstrated knowledge of basic math
• Requires developing job knowledge/skills
• Requires a High School Diploma or equivalent
