Job Title: Mechancial Assembler 2nd Shift

Job Location: Torrance, CA

Salary: $21.00-$31.00/hr DOE

 

We are currently seeking a MICROWAVE TUBE GENERALIST to work on 1st shift at our Torrance, CA location, building sub-assemblies for traveling wave tube (TWT) products used primarily for military applications.  In this full-time hourly position you will be responsible for building the various assemblies and sub-assemblies that make up the initial components in our TWTs.   You’ll follow detailed process instructions to put together small TWT sub-assemblies, using a variety of hand tools, fixtures, measuring devices and you will operate furnaces.  In conjunction with others in your work group, you'll ensure that quality, cost, and production goals are met.

Responsibilities

  • Must be able to accurately read blueprints, assembly instructions, and other related documentation
  • Experience using basic hand tools.
  • 20/20 eyesight (corrected) and good hand-eye coordination are necessary, along with the ability to work with small parts and hand tools under a microscope for extended periods of time.
  • Good math skills to carry out basic calculations and measurements are required.
  • Computer data input skills are helpful.
  • Knowledge of the use of torque tools, feeler gauges, micrometers, calipers, and dial indicators is a plus.
  • Knowledge of foreign object debris (FOD) control and tool control processes is desirable.

Qualifications

  • A high school diploma or equivalent is needed.
  • 1-3 years of operations or manufacturing-related work experience, general knowledge of mechanical assembly processes and procedures, with previous precision mechanical assembly experience preferred.
  • Experience working in a clean room is helpful.
