Job Title: Manufacturing Test Technician

Job Location: Williamsport, PA

Under general supervision, the HVPS Technician supports the assembly, testing, troubleshooting, and acceptance of high-voltage power supplies and power-conditioning sections used in Microwave Power Modules (MPMs). This role includes performing routine and advanced electrical testing, configuring test stations, troubleshooting power-supply faults, supporting rework/repair, and ensuring all work meets documented requirements, safety standards, and configuration-control practices.

Responsibilities

  • Perform electrical testing and verification of HVPS and low-voltage control circuits used in MPM assemblies, following established test procedures and work instructions.
  • Set up, configure, and modify test stations as required, including connecting loads, meters, network interfaces, interlocks, and high-voltage safety components.
  • Execute MPM power-supply acceptance tests, burn-in sequences, and environmental screens (as required); record all data accurately in test data sheets and database systems.
  • Troubleshoot failing, marginal, or unstable power supplies, including identifying issues in high-voltage multipliers, DC-DC converters, gate-drive circuits, bias supplies, control boards, and protection circuitry.
  • Perform component-level adjustments, tuning, and calibration to meet power-level, regulation, ripple, and stability requirements.
  • Support rework and repair of customer-returned or production-returned units, including diagnostics, component replacement, and retesting.
  • Collaborate with engineering on root-cause investigations, test improvements, ECO incorporation, and design feedback for manufacturability.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area and adhere to all ESD, HV safety, and configuration-control practices.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Associate degree in Electronics or equivalent hands-on experience preferred.
  • Approximately 2+ years of experience testing electronic assemblies, preferably involving high-voltage systems, regulated power supplies, or RF/microwave hardware.
  • Proficiency using digital multimeters, oscilloscopes, power meters, electronic loads, hi-pot testers, and network analyzers.
  • Experience working safely with high voltage (5–20+ kV) and familiarity with interlocks, grounding practices, and protective systems.
  • Ability to interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and test procedures.
  • Demonstrated ability to independently diagnose and recover failing hardware with minimal engineering support.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance is required.
