Overview

Job Title: Electronic Test Technician 

Job Location: Torrance, CA

Salary: $30-$35/hr DOE

 

We currently have an opportunity for an ELECTRONIC TEST TECHNICIAN at our Torrance, California location to test power supplies and power-related units used with satellite propulsion products.  

Responsibilities

  • Set up and operate specialized and commercial test equipment, computers and related equipment to perform manual and automated performance and environmental tests on space-qualified power control units
  • Troubleshoot hardware and equipment to the component level by carrying out activities ranging from minor unit manipulations through complete tear-downs, selecting resistors for installation, and conducting wire and component checks.
  • Support test anomaly investigations when necessary
  • Perform test data management activities including data collection, evaluation, and documentation
  • Assist engineering staff members in the design, procurement, build, and check-out of test equipment, testing and evaluation of software, and review of test procedures.

Qualifications

  • You will need at least three years of electronics test experience, preferably with high-voltage power supplies, along with an associate's degree in electronics or a related field, OR an equivalent combination of education and experience.  Other qualifications that will enable you to perform successfully in this position include:
  • Working experience using digital oscilloscopes, digital meters, current amplifiers and probes, differential probes, thermal chambers, and other common test equipment.
  • Must be able to work from schematics, drawings, engineering specifications, data sheets, wiring diagrams, and verbal and written instructions.
  • Thorough knowledge of safety practices utilized when working with high voltage
  • Effective communication skills are necessary to provide status and reports regarding troubleshooting findings on failed units and general unit status.
  • The ability to lift items weighing over 50 lbs. and assist in the movement of test bays is necessary.
